Inception

2010

Birla Open Minds International School (BOMIS) was established with the vision to provide a holistic, globally competitive education to students. The school emphasized a child-centric, student-focused approach, integrating innovative methods such as the constructivist learning model and multiple intelligence theory. The curriculum was designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and global awareness.

Expansion into Preschools

2011-2015

The early success of the K-12 schools led to the creation of Birla Open Minds Preschools (BOMPS), focusing on the foundational years of education. The preschool curriculum was guided by neuroscience research on how children learn naturally, promoting brain-compatible learning experiences. These schools prioritized developmental appropriateness and aimed to rekindle the “joy of learning” in children, a key philosophy inspired by Rabindranath Tagore.

Nationwide Network Growth

2015 - 2020

By this period, Birla Open Minds had significantly expanded its reach. The network grew to include over 100 preschools and 90+ K-12 schools across India, solidifying its presence in multiple states. The organization introduced a variety of educational programs, including a blend of Indian and international curricula such as CBSE, ICSE, and the IB programs.

Focus on Holistic Education and Digital Transformation

2020 - 2024

In the 2020s, Birla Open Minds adapted to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic by integrating digital education into its model. This period saw an emphasis on continuous learning, combining traditional methods with online platforms to ensure uninterrupted education. The schools also prioritized co-scholastic areas like arts, sports, and community service, fostering well-rounded students.
